Improve creative thinking in students.

If you go to any local municipal school, you will find that the teaching staff there do not take creative thinking so active in their day-to-day teaching. Most of their activities revolve around classwork, homework, and other core curriculum activities. However, in recent times some of the best play and nursery schools in greater Faridabad and other places are giving more focus on improving critical thinking among the students through different activities. Some of the best science and commerce schools in Faridabad have taken guidance from child psychologists who believe that creative thinking makesthe students far better at creative problem solvers and confident than other children. In this article, we will learn how to improve creative thinking in children so that they not only achieve academically but also grow confident in their abilities.

Play a game of charades with the kids

The game of charades is very interesting for children because it challenges them to play a part for only one minute. To start this game, you can first think about few simple words and put them on several pieces of paper like Queen, reading, laughing, eating et cetera. Ask each child to pick one such piece of paper and within 60 seconds act that word in front of the class and let the other students guess the letter from their acting. This will force the children to think creatively on the spot on how to make their friends understand what is written on the piece of paper through their acting.

Painting

Painting is a great activity in which a child can be encouraged to give free rein to their imagination and creative thinking. You can get some paint books, paints, brushes and ask the children to draw anything on a particular theme that you have chosen. You will find that this has given them a great opportunity to show their creative side by painting something. This will help develop creative thinking in the mind of young children.

The back-and-forth drying game

This is a very interesting and creative game wherein the student has to alternatively sketch a common image. In this, they have to think of something on their spot and also invent new things to keep the game going. As the game continues, you will find the child will dig deeper into his/her imagination to think of something better to continue the game.

Reading

Reading is one of the best ways to stimulate the imagination of a child that no other medium including TV or smartphone can emulate. However, unfortunately nowadays most young children are not interested in reading storybooks and are glued to their smartphones. As a teacher, you must encourage your students to read storybooks so that their imagination gets stimulated and they start thinking creatively.
